Discussion
This shader more-or-less functions as a fun little artistic thingy. The effect works best on images with large regions that are nearly monochromatic and that contrast a lot with their environment, and whose color is saturated. Realistically, this means things like flowers, auroras, neon signs, etc. A lot of digital art tends to be made this way as well, I would recommend trying out some of your favorite images and seeing what happens. Have fun! :)
